Hi there,

I'm a 18 year old girl and when i was in 9 grade ( i'm in 11, now) i wrote an essay, on what' peace means to me' at school for the first anniversay of 9/11. Here's the essay that i wrote:

This is what peace means to me. Peace is that the whole world would be happy. There wouldn't be any cruelty, war, jealousy, illnesses and so on. Earth wouldn't exsist . Heaven would exsist the sun would be shining and the air would smell like honeysuckle and it would be slightly breezy in the air. People would be wearing white and be all happy with eachother. John Lennon would be there greeting everybody with a ' Hello' and spending time with everybody around him. Also, music would also fill the air. It's just like John Lennon said' Imagine all the people, living life and peace."

thank you!

Christina

Hallo dear friends.
Namaste.
Om.
The day John was shot, I went to record in a studio here in São Paulo, as an arranger. When I just entered in the studio, I was informed of the shot. I just couldn't believe it, but we checked out and it was true.
I just entered into the studio, where the piano was, and started to sing IMAGINE, wondering how coiuld it be possible that Jesus was killed and Lennon was shot. I was revolted inside - in that occasion. I got the phones in my head, hearing myself and the Piano. People in the "aquarium" - the tecnicians and the composer - respected generously, and I finished the singing and... cried.
few minutes ago, I was reming myself and people of the Birth of a New Era, when the Master of my Own, in India, Osho, has His Birthday Today.
Instead of crying, for His assassination, also, I celebrate singing my songs, singing Lennon, singing Osho. So does my friend Miten from Fleetwood Mac ( in the 80's) and my friend Ashvabodhi and Deva Premal.

Thank you, friends. Sw. Anand Taza (s.h.lemker) Brazil

If you want to contact with me, write me to  alotaza@yahoo.com.br or access my site  www.taza.com.br  . Than you, sincerely.

The one person The Beatles wanted to meet the most when they came to Anerica was Elvis Presley. How about that.John Lennon was a huge Elvis fan.

Ronald Turgeon

John was our hope. The hope of millions who cannot say their "peace" and be heard. I am one of those, still mourning his untimely death as it were the death of my hopes, my dreams, my happiness. And yet I can feel his presence, watching over the world, humming his peace anthem.
"Imagine" we were to unite as the Order of the Universal Harmony, ryding together, spreading the word (and the word is Love!). "Imagine" we could really change the world and make people see. "Imagine" the world was, suddenly, able to see! It's easy, all you need is Love! So why don't you get moving? How come you are still waiting for the Messiah, when all mankind should be the messiah, acting as one? If you read what Jesus really said and then read what John said, will you not understand? Will you not yet know that it's you they're talking about? If you love the world, if you honour john's teachings, if his death still hurts, then you must do something about it, because weeping won't get you far. I've wept, I still weep, I miss him dearly, but I understood that in order to make John's life worth, I should teach it to others and allow them to see the light, to understand that a brotherhood of Man is our final goal, and then we will finally rest and meet with all those who have fought
for the Ideal, before us.
That's my dream. Yes, I am one of those who joined John, and I too hope that someday you'll join us, so the world will be as one!!!
Thank You John!!!

Joaquim Simões Duarte

I cant believe its been 25 years now that you have left us dear john. While mourning your loss on this day, we lose another rock legend in Darrell Abbott. Music will never be the same without you John, and you will never be replaced!

Hi i'm 18 and from Rome. I first heard the beatles when I was 8 and fell in love with them! As I grew up I understood John was the best, the one I like most and I absolutely adore all his songs! I have all the specials on him  they did on TV and the books and I really wished I could have seen and heard him! However hearing his songs is a bit like knowing him!
This site is great! Thanx!

This day is a very sad day for me.. although i'm born in 1986, 6 years after Lennon's death, I feel that I know him.. not as a person, but as a hero, not just for me, but for the humanity.
I hope we'll never forget John Lennon
"Imagine all the people.. living for today..." I really imagine him living for today.

Hello John,                            Dec.8, 2005
I know you are reading this wherever you are.  I say thanks to you for everything.  I was just 17 when the Beatles "blessed" the U.S. and left the door open for world music to come through.  To just say "I love you" is perhaps, too trite, too easy to say; but please don't let it be taken that way, because it's so true; and so many do.  You are at once, a "now" presence and a "forever" memory.

So,from another fan, another brother;
let's keep giving peace a chance and visualizing the world's love for one another.

Like the "working class heroes" we're all struggling to be, only you make the grade John, and are one 'bird' so free.

So, love on ya, Johnny, see you again some day
and my apologies for not knowing just what else to say...

And now with kudos to Yoko, Julian, and Sean:
Yes, quite respectfully, you share the legacy of John
And his music and teachings and his humor as well,
May these stories live on for future generations to tell.

Thank you and please know you are loved!

Doyle Feller

This is great, finally a page for real fans like me, write me to share stuff.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WEBSITE.  I FEEL SO MUCH CLOSER TO JOHN NOW THEN EVER.  TODAY IS NOT A HAPPY DAY FOR ME AS A BEATLEMANIAC.  I SAW JOHN GO INTO THE ED SULLIVAN THEATER WHEN THE BEATLES FIRST CAME TO AMERICA.  MY MIND SNAPPED AND I NEVER HAVE BEEN THE SAME.  ALL THESE YEARS I HAVE ADMIRED THERE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.  JOHN WAS ALWAYS THE DEEP ONE AND I RELATED TO HIM.  PART OF ME DIED THAT DAY AND SO DID THE BEATLES EVER GETTING TOGETHER AGAIN.  WHICH STILL HURTS.  I SAW THEM IN 1965 AND 1966 AT SHEA STADIUM AND I THANK SID BERNSTEIN FOR THE TICKETS HE SENT ME BECAUSE I DROVE HIM CRAZY.  I THANK GOD FOR THE BEATLES AND THE MOST ORIGINAL MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD AND EVER WILL.  EVER SONG I HEAR TODAY SOUNDS JUST AS IT DID THE DAY I FIRST HEARD IT.  LONG LIVE JOHN'S MEMORY AND I KNOW HE IS AT PEACE.

I may only be 17 but john lennon has been my inspiration since I was very young and I am glad that my mom gave me the gift of listening to his music.........and his music will live on.......

What a great man! Nice gentle bloke. Immensely clever musician. To me, he fought the hardest of all the beatles throughout his life, with family relationship problems that brought on insecurtiy in later life then he had to take drugs to cope with it.

He took five years away from music, to get his life back on track. He had a few children, a family, was getting off drugs. He was a happy man, just released a fine new album, then someone shot him.
I'd like to get a hold of that bastard!

Ben Keith

JOHN I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE THE BEST AND YOU ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST!!!NOBODY CAN COMPARE WITH YOU, JOHN!!!
I LOVE YOU SINCE I WAS 10 YEARS OLD!!!AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!!
PEACE & LOVE

Taras, or whatever.... Lennon loved to watch television....the only problem with peace is reality
I love The Beatles too you know.... grow up kid.

Dear John~
I was only 4 years old when you were killed, but that fateful day resignates through my heart as if were yesterday.  My favorite song is "Watching the Wheels" because whenever I feel beaten down and out of sinc your words remind me it's ok to stand apart from the status quo.

Thank you for being John.

yours...

HI all I'm a big admirer of John Lennons's work and dreams , by the way I'am a palestinean and I do beleive that peace can replace war between our people.

Look people always say that I'm obssesed with the Beatles but there's some reasoning behind that. I am 11. My uncle died when I was 2 or 3 and I'm afraid to ask about him. I know that he was a great painter and was a Beatle freak. I can't paint so I started looking up Beatle things. I really liked what I saw. So now I know almost all the lyrics and I really like the Beatles. But I think I like my uncle better. Please say a prayer for Sean Marcotte. I really miss him :( Thank you

Christina Marcotte

I am a true dreamer! John is one of the greats who has inspired me!

John was voted no.1 music icon of all time!  Yaaayyy! go John!!!!!!

I was in high school the day John was shot.  I remember going to school in tears.  I was confused at why some sicko would take it upon themself to go out and kill the very person whom I admired.  And coincidentially, John was shot about 3 weeks after the american republican president ronald reagan was elected.  I think John was set up; John to me gave me hope that peace would happen in this world.  But others, the majority at the time, were only concerned about their own personal material wealths.  It has been 24 years since his abrupt passing, but John is still in my heart.

Delamo1999

Dear John, I always thought I believed in God and I still do but now I realise what you wanted this world to be and so I wanted you to know that you are my god! You're and always will be!I'm crying on my desk because my first dream will never come through, I was born in 1988 and so I never had the chance to meat someone so peacefull and greatfull like you...I'm also crying because I know I'm not the onlyone who still believes in your dreams and I know all those people are in your heart!I hope that there will be a day the whole world will realise that they had it wrong and there souls will be crying for a thought like yours!I want to tell my friend about you but it seems like there hearts are fullfild with anger and revench...I want to do something about that and I know I can do it but not allone because my heart isn't so strong as yours and so I want to say to all those people who can make your dream come true: if we all put our minds together and create a world of peace, the anger will fade away and our lives will be joyfull!
I want to excuse myself for the grammatical errors but I know John can understand me and putt the message to your hearts!!
I love you John...and I miss you.
see you in heaven..

I dream and Imagine, shaking as I write this, that I could ask a favor of God and go back in time to do the right thing and save Mr. Lennon. Because he saved many of us from being less then men and women showing and proving our schizophrenic ectoplasm. I am alive today because of him. In the end I almost persevered a monstrous jangle of love perfectly. I still value his opinion of us who have special needs and are stricken by the violence of today's world.
Being not misled but learning from our captains words of peace and love.

Daniel

Love forever to John and Yoko.Thank you both. Darrell.

John...... (and to all who's lives he touched)!!

Can anyone ever find the words?

I cannot. All I know is "I AM" because of you.

You taught me so many things by your words, and examples. I am truly a better person because of you.  I most humbly thank you..

John Lennons' dreams and visions were simple, yet the complexity of their implications are astounding.  He said what needed to be said.  We all know in our hearts that peace and love exist.  Why then is it so impossible to realize the dream, and not just imagine it?

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, no matter what, I know love, inner strength, beauty.. "Because ...the world is round it turns me on". And because there were those like you John, I am not discouraged by war and its ugliness,(although it turns me off!)I am encouraged by the fact that there must be bad to appreciate the good, war to appreciate peace, and the dullest star in existence to appreciate how truly brilliant you were.

My dream is that someday someone like you will come again and we humans will have the wisdom to realize their tenuous existence is so vital to the future of mankind itself but is the fragile string that binds us all.

Happy Birthday,

Love, Karen

Karen LaFountain

John was a man of integity in a world where it' sorely lacking,he said what he beleived and backed it up with his action.
We lost a great man when he was murdered for nothing. The world is paying for it's loss.I can't understand why this world has to be so dog eat dog!I hope his children can make an impact the way he did as his music spoke about what we are lacking in his absence. We needed to say the emperor has no clothes.I know he looking down on us hoping we figure this thing they

All I can say is GIVE PEACE A CHANCE AMEN BROTHER & SISTERS

John Lennon is the greatest musician I ever known. Together with The Beatles, they revolutionized the shadow and real scene of Rock & Roll era. His life is like a song that you can always feel and heard the existence of his journey. Imagine life and era of Rock & Roll without the so called John Lennon and The Beatles.
Hey John! Wherever you are, you're John Lennon

Dennis

John Lennon has always been so much a part of my life that I feel as though I knew him personaly. I grew up in a home where his pictures hung on the walls, and his music filled the air. I was named after him, pulled from school on a cold December day to attend a mourning at a city park, and twelve years later I would have a son named Julian. I tell you all this so you know how sincere I am when I say I appreciate all your hard work, effort, and dedication to this web site. I'm so glad I stumbled in here today and I know I'll be back. Always know that his fans love and appreciate all that you do.         THANK YOU

Eric John Kerperien

love the music of lennon and the beatles!! John has to be one of the greatest song writers of all time... though perhaps one of the weakest of philosophers... and time is proving him to be a "false prophet". But his songs are incredibly memorable and have made such an impact! Long live his music!

Phil

John Lennon has always and will always be my number one mentor!

I just wanted to share some thoughts about John.Someone at work mentioned that what's-his-name is up for parole again.I read the news today...All I am saying,is give peace a chance but Instant Karma is gonna get you.Twenty four years ago I was in a kitchen in Huntsville, Texas when I got the news.I put an "out-of-order" sign on the juke-box,then turned up the volume on the radio to get some insight, and cried like a baby all night.Tonight, it's a full moon, and we all shine on.If what's-his-name gets out of prison,he will know what John went thru before he was gunned down in cold blood.Prayers will be his only help.God bless John, and always remember "Love is the answer".
